Local Attractions

Synonymous with elegance and exclusivity, Quinta do Lago is a golf and residential estate covering nearly 2000 acres, cradled between the Atlantic Ocean and the verdant Ria Formosa Park. In this private location, magnificent golf courses and majestic villas blend with the green umbrella pines and tranquil lakes.

There are also so many activities to enjoy in Quinta do Lago.

  • Quinta do Lago offers water sports. Learn to sail, go canoeing or windsurfing across the lake - or get the whole family on a pedalo ride!
  • Quinta do Lago's golf courses are rated among Europe’s top 20 golf courses. The destination has hosted eight Portuguese Open Championships, and continues to be the Portuguese venue of choice for national and international tournaments.
  • Ria Formosa Natural Park is one of the most beautiful places in the Algarve, an idyllic oasis full of rare bird species, and a haven for birdwatchers.
  • Algarve beaches are world famous, and Quinta do Lago Beach is one of the most beautiful, in the natural paradise of Ria Formosa Park.
  • Faro is something of a hidden gem, since many people miss it by getting a taxi to the hotel straight from the airport, but it has a charming and historic port. Wander through the cobbled streets beneath the medieval wall, bask at the marina with a glass of Portuguese wine, or visit the beautiful Municipal Museum, and see original Moorish arte facts. Alternatively, visit the Carmo church, an intricate Baroque church with a chapel of bones!

Vale do Lobo

  • Located in the heart of Algarve, Vale do Lobo enjoys a privileged position in a lush verdant landscape of pine trees, wild flowers and lakes.
  • Vale do Lobo has an enviable portfolio of sports and leisure facilities including two 18-hole golf courses - the Royal and the Ocean - and a diverse line-up of entertainment and events throughout the year.
  • Vale do Lobo is home to two outstanding golf courses, which have twice been host to the Portuguese Open. Both take players through umbrella pine and fig tree-lined fairways to the Atlantic – the Royal playing dramatically along the cliff’s edge, while the Ocean sweeps elegantly down to the beach. This combination of links and parkland golf provides an enjoyable game for golfers of all standards.
  • One of the largest tennis facilities in Portugal, the Vale do Lobo Tennis Academy has 10 hard courts, 4 synthetic grass courts, as well as a mini-tennis and paddle tennis court.
  • It attracts national and international tennis fixtures, including an annual ATP Seniors Tour competition, the Vale do Lobo Grand Champions Caixa Geral de Depósitos, and the Portuguese Ladies´ Open
  • The Tennis Academy´s team of professional coaches is led by Pedro Frazão, one of Portugal´s best tennis players now recognised as the country´s top coach.
  • The Tennis Academy runs a busy year-round programme of individual and group coaching, tournaments and social events, for members and holidaymakers.
